Gcorn plant
Homology network of plant gene

★ What is Gcorn database?

♦ Abstract

  • The Gcorn database provides information on homologous genes. The plant version of Gcorn, named 'Gcorn plant', has released at October 2017. Information on homologues of 73 plants (62 land plants and 11 green algae) is provided. The information was obtained from the RefSeq database in NCBI. Using Gcorn, a phylogenetic tree and a map of species distribution of a gene of interest are available.

♦ Phylogenetic tree

  • A phylogenetic tree contains a gene of interest and 20 genes with the highest homology indices. Each gene is named as GI number with scientific name of species. Vertical bars represent values of homological indices between sequences.

♦ Map of species distribution

  • A map of species distribution is composed of 73 nodes (species) and edges to connect species with many homologous genes. In a map, groups of species are almost coincident with family, except for tree species. Red and gray nodes represent species with and without genes homologous to a gene of interest, respectively.
